I create art as an outlet to escape the constant bustle of my thoughts and the world around me. My thoughts are abstract and ever-shifting, and in translation, so is my art. Through weaving with wire, I defy the laws of fabric. I strive to embrace the ageless craft and add my own flair through the use of unconventional materials. I have spent the last five years working with cotton and wire on my floor loom which has allowed me to vastly explore process, form, and shape. I use various ways of displaying my weavings, such as in frames, embedded in concrete, or on their own. From capturing a moment to isolating a singular thought, to threading, to weaving, to shaping, I enjoy the entirety of the process. I trust that the end result of a piece will fulfill my vision and capture that moment. I am able to take my work in a unique direction with the use of wire, pushing the boundaries of contemporary weaving.
